ESTES PARK, Colorado: You've heard of the Virgin Mary appearing in a
grotto? Now the King of Rock and Roll appearing on a rock. Rock collector LaDell Alexander of Estes Park,
Colorado has found a stone she swears has the image of Elvis Presley on it. The rock has a pattern of gray and white that appears to look like Elvis in profile.
"People are calling me the Elvis Rock Lady," said Alexander, 60. "Seven out of 10 people see Elvis (on the rock)."
Alexander found the rock last summer and she was cleaning it before putting it in her yard when she saw the image. Her husband confirmed the "Elvis" sighting. "I was about 20 feet away and the first thing I said was, 'That is
Elvis'" Lynn Alexander said.
Jessica Blezins, who works for Nature's Own, a store that sells fossils and rocks, said that the image is definitely not man-made. Alexander will sell the rock on eBay in August, near the 30th anniversary of Elvis' death and donate 10 percent of the proceeds to one of Elvis' foundations. |
Why,
hasn't Elvis been allowed to die? According to the so-called authorities
Elvis cleverly hoaxed his own death in order to live-out his old age in
peace and quiet, away from the demands of touring, recording and to
avoid the maddening crowds of his fans. All this despite the
conventional wisdom that his corpse is buried under 15 tones of steel in
the family plot at Graceland.
Speculations
about Elvis's fate surfaced as far back as 1979. That year, the country
and western singer, Waylon Jennings recorded a song with lyrics that
indicated, 'Elvis, may still be alive.' This simple melody, raised
hopes, queries, and fuelled rumours, starting a heated debated that has
become the brunt of many jokes. Today, Waylon adamantly refutes the
'still alive' theory.
"My
lyrics were totally misunderstood," he says. That didn't stop the
countless of greedy snake oil merchants who realised, this revelation
would reap in the bucks! Working their fingers on typewriters all over
the world these 'researches' began to churn out books - each claiming
yet another profound 'mystery' surrounding Elvis Presley's
death. One such
personality
[parasite] is
Major Bill Smith, author of 'Memphis Mystery, Requiem for Elvis'. He
claims his book is based on fact! He also claims to have known Elvis
intimately enough to predict, "Elvis was so distraught having to
live up to his image he decided to retreat into obscurity."
In
response to Major Bill's claims, Joe Esposito, a close companion to
Elvis and a member of the Memphis Mafia, who lived at Graceland for 20
years and was also present that fateful day, has repeatedly stipulated,
"during my years with Elvis, I never saw or ever heard of this
Major Smith - he's just another profiteering monster!" But the best
renown 'believer' of these 'living a life of anonymity' rumours have
been fuelled by the notorious Gail Brewer Giorgio, author of the
controversial book "Is Elvis Alive?"
A
cassette tape, presuming interviews with Elvis - made after his death
accompanies her book! This tape 'supposedly' confirms the written word
that raises questions about the 'discrepancies' surrounding Elvis'
death. Just one of the many discrepancies Giorgio's book addresses, is
the spelling of Elvis' middle name 'Aaron' on his tombstone - which she
claims is a clue to Elvis' status!
This
feeble attempt to throw doubt, leads no-where - for another
better-researched book, published in 1981 (years before Ms. Giorgio's
book) had already clarified the issue! In his book, "Elvis"
Albert Goldman informs, "Elvis' distraught mother (Gladys) filled
out the birth certificate spelling Aaron with only one A.
Years
later, (1963) Elvis constantly embarrassed by the oversight had his name
legally changed from Aron to Aaron? Today, the document of this
transaction can be sighted at Memphis County Hall." Now it stands
to reason, Elvis 'Aaron' Presley is what appears on his tombstone at
Graceland. Giorgio's also
disputes the issue of Elvis' dead-body weighting 75lbs. less than the
grotesque 250lbs Elvis ballooned to, just before his death? In lieu of
the discrediting book, ELVIS: WHAT HAPPENED? which went on sale
just 6 weeks before Elvis' death made Vernon suspicious and paranoid his
son might have been poisoned by the authors.
Just
come to hand - letter from Major Bill Smith's sibling. Adding insult to
injury
To whom this may
concern: I take offense that you refer to my father Major Bill Smith
who passed away in 1994 as a "parasite." No human should be
referred to in this manner. Yes, through various circumstances, he
believed Elvis was still alive. He also spent 35 years and thousands of
dollars helping the homeless of Fort Worth when NO ONE gave a damn above
those hobo's. He produced platinum hits in the 60's and gave much
of his share of the earnings to feed and care for those unfortunate. Elvis,
he was a fat ego-driven drug addict that cared only about himself. If
my father would have represented Elvis he would have taken him to Europe
like he did Bruce Channel and Paul & Paula. Col Tom couldn't,
because he couldn't leave the country. Whatever you think of my father,
I hope you will remove parasite from your description of him and put
something less insulting.
