Loyd Elvis Cousin - Short Biography Harold Loyd was born in Tupelo MS on April 22, 1929 to Rhetha Smith Lloyd, sister of Elvis’s mother Gladys, who died tragically from severe burns in 1941.
Harold wrote a loving tribute to Elvis in 1987, "Elvis Presley's Graceland Gates" that chronicled his years spent at the fabled mansion mingling with fans from around the world and earned the respect of all in Elvis world for writing it in his own words.
He prided himself on not having betrayed Elvis by revealing any personal confidences that his beloved cousin shared with him during their rich 42-year relationship.
All Elvis fans who ever had the pleasure to meet and talk to Harold will indeed grieve the loss of a man of his era and ilk that was enriched with his special brand of Southern style hospitality and wit.
At this time it is not known by the family where or when the services will be held, but he will be laid to rest in his home town of Tupelo MS, where he and Elvis began there lives together.

The funeral will be Monday, January 21, no exact time at the moment. The Pegues Funeral Home is located at 535 West Jefferson Street, Tupelo, MS 38801.
