Priscilla Presley has launched a jewelry line that bears her name.

It was a chance, she says, to combine her business expertise with her love of jewelry. "I've always been interested in fashion and made my own clothes when I was a child," says Presley, speaking from her home in Los Angeles. "I guess there's always been a frustrated designer in me. I always like to buy a piece of jewelry and tweak it and make it my own. I've always wanted to do this."

Priscilla Presley Designer Jewelry Collection "As you may know, I'm a great collector of crosses, both vintage and modern. Crosses were one of Elvis' signature gifts to me. He would bring me a new piece when he saw one that was really unique during his travels. I probably have between 25 – 50 in my own collection. I love them for their originality, artistry and how a particular country or region’s culture is reflected in its design and craftsmanship. This particular cross design is Byzantine in originand is inspired by one of my own. It exemplifies a modern, ornate-meets-edgy aesthetic and is full of stylish personality." AUSTRALIAN businessman Bruno Schiavi has climbed into bed with Priscilla Presley
 and joined forces to release a range of bed linen, robes, slippers, towels

"We are out in the world fighting battles every single day and the one place you come home to is a place that is like your bedroom that is a sanctuary for you," Presley said from her Los Angeles home."I love the fabrics. The collection shows versatility, uniqueness and style." Schiavi relocated from Sydney to Los Angeles earlier this year to work with Presley on the collection which will be released in Australia in February next year. "I am hands on with this with Bruno," said Elvis' ex, who also has her own perfume range. I could never just lend my name and have somebody do all the work for me. I would feel like I am cheating myself and cheating the consumer."

Schiavi, who was listed in BRW magazine's young rich list, said he is often approached by celebrities looking to broaden their markets. He said the most important part of his endeavors is feeling a connection with the person he is working with. "I could have met Priscilla and she could have been lovely but at the same time, if I didn't think we could work together, I wouldn't have gone ahead," Schiavi, 33, said. "Being a global launch, it is a huge challenge for my company and I have got to make sure this partnership actually lasts for a long time." Schiavi is in negotiations with retail outlets internationally to distribute the Presley Bed Linen collection. Priscilla was in Australia, March 2006 to launch the bed linen range. "March is when I will launch the range," she said. "And that gives me a chance to meet up with some friends that I have there too and share what we have created and hope that they are as excited as we are." The Priscilla Presley Collection will consist of nine lines, with the bed linen made of fine Egyptian cottons and in a range of colors from whites to browns, gold and green. One line was inspired by a favourite pair of Presley's pants.
