Tom Cruise in Japan
TOM CRUISE THE ELVIS FAN
Tom Cruise has nothing but praise
for Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi

"He's really an extraordinary man - and a pretty good singer. We sang Elvis together," Cruise told reporters after meeting Koizumi at his official residence this week. "I think he's a charismatic and very intelligent man." Cruise declined to reveal which of the hits of Elvis he sang with Koizumi, an eclectic music lover whose favorites also include Wagner

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were already married when they tied the knot in a spectacular million dollar wedding at a fairytale Italian castle. Cruise's agent revealed the couple had a legal ceremony in America before flying to Italy, as the Church of Scientology service is not recognised there. Celebrities including Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez, Brooke Shields and Jim Carrey flew in for the event at the 500-year-old, ivy-covered castle.

Holmes arrived first, followed by guests in a series of blacked-out minibuses. Cruise arrived at 4pm and the wedding took place at 6pm in the Sala dei Armi (Hall of Arms). The wedding music included several Elvis songs and finished just after midnight, followed by a firework display over the castle. The couple flew out of Italy early yesterday aboard a private jet and headed to the Maldives for their honeymoon.

Washington, U.S. military records spanning more than four centuries, from the 1600's to the Vietnam War, are now available online, according to the website Ancestry.com

According to Discovery News, the collection includes World War I and World War II draft registration cards; prisoner of war records from the War of 1812, the Civil War, World War II, and Korea; unit rosters for the Marine Corps and Navy; burial registers; service records from the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the Civil War; and casualty listings from WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

Some of the documents even include personal affidavits from neighbours, describing what the individual's character was like, or physical descriptions.
