Elvis Style Elvis Fashion Elvis was a fashion icon of the 50s-60s-70s.  Long before Elvis ever stepped into a jumpsuit he was a fashion individual. As a teenager every sent he earned he spent on clothes, choosing to shop at Lasky Bros know for there outstandish street men’s attire. Elvis was the Lady Gaga of his day, wearing outlandish garb one day and seeing it become street fashion the next. Imagine, before Elvis, a straight guy wearing a pink shirt (he wore many of those), a pink belt, and pink socks. The king wore handmade shirts and casual suits, to his flashy custom-made jewelry and shoes, he was the rock ‘n’ roll royalty dresser to adhere too. Elvis wore his hair long before everyone else thought it was fashionable. As for jeans… Elvis never wore them (except in his movies) as denim reminded Elvis of being poor, so he did not wear denim as an adult.

Elvis associated jeans as working clothes and the poverty of his youth. He’d only wear them if, say, a film role the likes of Jailhouse Rock demanded it. Or if money did. Ironically, Elvis lent his name to Levi’s for their ‘Elvis Presley’ style, the first black denim jeans…  Elvis Presley the fashio icon of the 50s – 60s and 70s was the master of wearing leather jackets embracing all colours and lets not forget his slick sunglasses
